Flip the Switch: Sea Turtle Beach Cleanup Series
Join Miami Beach Rising Above, MORAES of South Florida, and 1 Hotel for the “Flip the Switch” Sea Turtle Beach Cleanup Series — a morning dedicated to marine conservation, community engagement, and protecting South Florida’s sea turtles.
Participants will enjoy a guided turtle walk along 24th Street Beach, where attendees will learn about sea turtle nesting behavior, nest protection efforts, and best practices for coastal conservation. Following the educational walk, volunteers will participate in a beach cleanup to help keep critical nesting habitats clean and safe for marine wildlife.
Whether you’re passionate about ocean conservation, interested in learning more about sea turtles, or simply looking for a meaningful way to give back to the environment, this event offers a hands-on opportunity to make a positive impact alongside fellow community members and conservation partners.

To help make the cleanup and turtle walk safe, comfortable, and enjoyable, we recommend volunteers bring:
- Reusable water bottle
- Sunscreen
- Hat and/or sunglasses
- Comfortable walking shoes or sandals
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- A positive attitude and willingness to help protect our beaches and sea turtles!
Participants are encouraged to arrive a few minutes early for check-in and event instructions.
