City of Coral Gables at Cartagena Park ICC2026
Join us for the 41st International Coastal Cleanup — the world's largest one-day volunteer effort for our oceans and waterways! Show your commitment to reducing marine debris alongside millions of volunteers across the globe. Miami-Dade’s participation, organized by VolunteerCleanup.org and Clean Miami-Dade, features 65+ cleanups all over the county with 4,000 volunteers. This specific cleanup is being led by Keep Coral Gables Beautiful & the City of Coral Gables.
T-shirts with this year’s marine animal theme, the Humpback whale, are available for purchase. Order before August 30 to ensure your shirt arrives before the cleanup.
The Miami-Dade ICC is made possible by the generous support of our strategic level sponsors Ocaquatics, City of Miami Commissioner Damian Pardo, Terra and WSP, with additional support from Climate First Bank, City of Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins, and PADL.
For the cleanup, we will provide garbage bags, gloves, data collection cards, trash pickers, safety vests, and bug spray.

Important details:
- Registration is required to participate in the cleanup.
- Online waivers, also required, will be emailed to you immediately after registering.
- Please bring water in a reusable container. Let’s reduce waste and refuse single-use disposable plastic water bottles.
- Download the Ocean Conservancy’s Clean Swell app to participate in the Citizen Science activity to log, tally and measure the impact of your cleanup.
- Dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. This is grassy and rocky type of a site you can clean online or near the mangrove rocky coast and you should wear closed toe shoes.
- Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, and insect repellant are recommended.
- If you have your own reusable working or gardening type gloves, please bring them. We will be providing gloves but cannot guarantee they will be in your size.
- Some volunteers like to use a bucket during a cleanup. Ask a local restaurant, bakery, or donut shop if they get food items in 5-gallon buckets they'd be willing to donate for your cleanup!
Waivers are required to participate.
- If you are under 18 and coming without a parent or guardian, you must have a parent/guardian print and sign the waiver HERE in advance, and bring it with you to the cleanup.

There is parking along Cartagena Park on the Cocoplum Circle but ridesharing or carpooling is highly encouraged as parking is limited.
Meeting Spot Details
We will meet at the Cartagena Park at 6999 Old Cutler Road, near the bridge. We will have a table set up at the park on the east side of the Plaza Cartagena Circle.
