Virginia Key Dog Beach ICC2026
Join us for the 41st International Coastal Cleanup-the world's largest one-day volunteer effort for our oceans and waterways! It will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 8:30 am. The cleanup location will take place at Virginia Key Dog Beach/Hobie Beach located at 3979 Rickenbacker Causeway (across from MAST Academy) Miami, FL 33149-1022. Show your commitment to reducing marine debris alongside millions of volunteers across the globe. Miami-Dade’s participation, organized by VolunteerCleanup.org and Clean Miami-Dade, features 65+ cleanups all over the county with 4,000 volunteers. This specific cleanup is being led by the Consortium for a Healthier Miami-Dade.

Important details:
- Registration is required to participate in the cleanup.
- Waivers will be available for signing at the cleanup. ** However, if you are under 18 and coming without a parent or guardian, you must have a parent/guardian print and sign the waiver HERE in advance, and bring it with you to the cleanup.
- We will provide garbage bags, gloves, and data collection cards. Community Service hours are also provided
- Please bring water in a reusable container. Let’s reduce waste and refuse single-use disposable plastic water bottles.
- Download the Ocean Conservancy’s CleanSwell app to participate in the Citizen Science activity to log, tally and measure the impact of your cleanup.
- Dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. This is located at Virginia Key Dog Beach, and the type of site is beach, and you should wear closed-toed shoes, water shoes or flip flops.
- Sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen are recommended.
- If you have your own reusable working or gardening type gloves, bring them. We will be providing gloves but cannot guarantee they will be in your size.
- Some volunteers like to use a bucket during a cleanup. Ask a local restaurant, bakery, or donut shop if they get food items in 5-gallon buckets they'd be willing to donate for your cleanup!

Parking Information
Parking is limited along the shoreline. Overflow parking is available across the street at MAST Academy. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early to allow time for parking and walking to the event check-in area.
Meeting Spot Details
The volunteer meeting location will be at the entrance of the parking lot on the shoreside (right-hand side), where a white tent will be set up under the tree. Please check in at the tent upon arrival.
Important Reminder for Volunteers Under 18.
If you are under 18 years of age, please bring your signed parent/guardian consent form. Volunteers under 18 without a completed consent form will not be able to participate.
