Join us for the 41st International Coastal Cleanup — the world's largest one-day volunteer effort for our oceans and waterways! Show your commitment to reducing marine debris alongside millions of volunteers across the globe. Miami-Dade’s participation, organized by VolunteerCleanup.org and Clean Miami-Dade, features 65+ cleanups all over the county with 4,000 volunteers. This specific cleanup is being led by Florida's Department of Environmental Protection through the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Preserve.
T-shirts with this year’s marine animal theme, the Humpback whale, are available for purchase. Order before August 30 if you want to guarantee your shirt arrives before the cleanup.

Important details:
- Registration is required to participate in the cleanup.
- Online waivers, also required, will be emailed to you immediately after registering. A paper waiver for Miami-Dade County Parks will also be provided on the day of the event.
- We will provide garbage bags, gloves, and data collection cards. Community Service hours are also provided
- Please bring water in a reusable container. Let’s reduce waste and refuse single-use disposable plastic water bottles.
- Download the Ocean Conservancy’s CleanSwell app to participate in the Citizen Science activity to log, tally and measure the impact of your cleanup.
- Dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. This is marina type of site and you should wear water shoes that you don't mind getting dirty or wet.
- Sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen are recommended.
- If you have your own reusable working or gardening type gloves, bring them. We will be providing gloves but cannot guarantee they will be in your size.
- Some volunteers like to use a bucket during a cleanup. Ask a local restaurant, bakery, or donut shop if they get food items in 5-gallon buckets they'd be willing to donate for your cleanup!

Parking Information
Main parking will be at the marina parking lot directly in front of the building. Overflow parking will be located across the street at the boat launch parking. Parking at the Pelican Harbor boat ramps or near active ramps is restricted, as those spots will be actively being used by the public. However, trailer parking is okay furthest from the launching point.
Meeting Spot Details
Registration will be in front of the Florida's Department of Environmental Protection BBEC building as soon as you turn off of 79th street on the North side of the island.
