Miami-Dade County Parks Volunteers In Parks (VIP) program Invites you to celebrate the life & legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Sustaining a healthy and vibrant parks system makes Miami-Dade County a great place to live! This event is hosted by Miami-Dade County Parks and will be held in recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and legacy.

This day of service promotes the benefits of healthy, vibrant communities and the importance of parks and recreation in establishing and maintaining quality of life and in contributing to the physical, economic, and

environmental well-being of communities. 

 

MLK Jr. Day of Service 2026 is scheduled on Friday January 16th 2026 from 9am-12pm. This is also a teacher planning day for Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

-Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in one of two locations at Miami-Dade Parks.

-All tools will be provided, community service hours letter will be provided upon completion of service. The activity is family friendly and open to all ages.


North Location:

-Oak Grove Park – 690 NE 159th St, Miami, FL 33162

                Activities -Peace Rock Garden installation, mulching, park cleanup, assemble toiletry kits for distribution to community members in need.

 

You can register for either location using the link provided or by scanning the QR Code below and selecting your site of preference.

-Registration on Park Link is required before beginning volunteer service, volunteers will complete a volunteer waiver during registration.
