TRANSPORTATION INSTRUCTIONS - READ

RIDESHARE / CARPOOLING ENCOURAGED: Parking is limited to about 30 small cars, so we are asking folks to rideshare / carpool to the location.
IF YOU WANT TO DRIVE MOST OF THE WAY, THEN RIDESHARE: If you are coming from far, there is a local surface parking lot at 4000 Chase Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33140 that you can park and then hop in a rideshare, or jump in a friend’s car. https://maps.app.goo.gl/e8xaetWP215Jb58s6.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR GPS COORDINATES IN RIDESHARE APP - Drop a pin instead of typing an address — In Uber or Lyft, you can switch to the map view and manually drop a pin at the exact GPS coordinates. This is the most precise method and avoids any address rounding. If you copy and paste the GPS Coordinates 25.810749, -80.157887 it should pin you there, but otherwise, scroll down to the ‘Set location on a Map’
a. Uber: Tap the destination field → tap the map → drag pin to exact location → confirm
b. Lyft: Tap "Set pickup/dropoff on map" → drag pin → confirm
IF YOU ARE DRIVING: The cleanup is at GPS Coordinates 25.810749, -80.157887 (https://maps.app.goo.gl/piwxdrb1jkDiTwBK7) which is on the NORTH side of the Julia Tuttle Causeway (I-195) heading WESTBOUND (from the Beach). If you are coming from the mainland, you will need to go EAST on I-195, then use the middle lane to the Alton Rd North, then make a U-Turn at the Mt Sinai Hospital entrance, and which will loop you back around to head WEST on I-195.
APPROACHING THE CLEANUP LOCATION: We are pulling off the side of the highway, so use EXTRA CAUTION coming of the highway. There will be flags and banners, along with a police car with blue lights. When you see the location on your right side, slow down, put your hazards on, and decelerate as you pull onto the shoulder. For Ubers, they can let you off and you walk in. If driving, the parking is BEHIND the guardrails, and the easiest way is to pull forward just past the gate and BACK IN. Park close to other cars to maximize space. When leaving the event, exit the gate onto the shoulder, wait patiently until there is plenty of room to get back on the highway.

What Should Volunteers Bring?

  • Closed Toed Shoes
  • Water In Reusable Bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Gloves
  • Hat & Sunglasses
  • Pickers

What Will Be Provided?

  • Garbage Bags
  • Water Refills
